oh camilla!

so not only is my etsy BFF Julie fantastically talented, now the world of Grey's Anatomy knows it too!  Julie was part of the GBK Oscars Gift Lounge, and the lovely Camilla Luddington was all over this gemstone cuff!  we all know how fabulous Julie's cuffs are, having already been showcased on The Vampire Diaries! 

Camilla has to be my favorite new character on Grey's, and the cuff she posed with at the Gift Lounge totally suits both her style and intern Jo's.  you can check out the rest of Julie's celebrity stylings HERE - and yay for celebrity trendspotting!  maybe one day Julie's designs will show up in the hallways of Seattle Grace Mercy West...

oh my. front page joy.

so i'm out with J doing property inspections (and sneaking off to have lunch) when my blackberry goes off and it's Julie.  with a bbm telling me that i'm on the front page of etsy.  in a treasury that she made!  (see the shot of her computer screen above?)  seriously, it totally made my day - plus, in the hour that it was up, i received over a 1000 views of my DIY stack of sterling skinny rings, 30 new shop hearts, and tons of miscellaneous traffic!  it couldn't have been a better advertising opportunity.  so thank you again, Julie - for putting me on your wish list!  (and hey - your new pretties are in the mail!!!!)

designs of an insomniac.

for some reason, i can't sleep lately.  too much going on in my head, but nothing creative, which for me is equally as frustrating as not sleeping.

finally, last night i crawled out of bed and sat in the cold basement, thinking about an idea for a hoop earring that my friend julie had suggested.  a couple of sketches and some melted silver blobs later.. and voila!  the most perfect tiny earrings!  nothing like watching firey metal melt into a molten ball to fire up the imagination.  different sizes to come as well!

trying to convince myself... reason #1 to go back to work

so everyone knows that i'm anxious about returning to work. in an attempt to convince/console myself, i've been compiling the positives (in no particular order) about going back - besides the financial reasons. and here is reason #1. i've slowly been collecting jewelry from julie ellyn designs, whose wire wrapped creations are just stunning. the three pieces above are sitting in my jewelry box right now, just waiting to be worn! it will be lovely to wear something pretty without worrying about the mini ripping it off and eating it. at least if i have to go back to work, i'll look sparkly and blingy!
